The Safety Widget is a patented crossbar assembly for use with hatches on tank trucks and rail cars. Open hatches pose significant dangers to workers working around these open hatches due to the increased risk of someone falling through the open hatch.
The Safety Widget partitions the hatch opening into four areas, while still allowing loading hoses or loading arms to be inserted through the hatch opening.
The Safety Widget is designed to be stored on OSHA compliant handrail (maximum 482.6mm (19″) opening between top rail and midrail). The pockets for storing the Safety Widget on the handrail fits members 50mm (2″) and smaller in width.
No tools are required to install the Safety Widget.
